Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary

Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary was founded in August 1986, by Jean, Derrick and Tereza Redmile at Shawline, Markfield, Leicestershire. In the beginning it started by the family Rehoming a few sick and injured Animals. This soon escalated dramatically into rehoming Horses, Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Ducks, Geese and even Owls. Due to the ever increasing financial burden on the Redmile family, Charity Status was sought after. This was obtained in March 1994. Obtaining Charity Status has aided the Sanctuary in official capacities, however, we now receive Animals through more channels than before, thus being a victim of our own success. The Plice, and other Animal Welfare Organisations and The General Public are the main area from which we receive most of our Residents
