Friends of Concord Park & Woolley Wood

The Friends Group aims are to improve facilities and the environment of Concord Park and Woolley Wood by working in partnership with Sheffield City Council and the Rangers Team. We are a dedicated group of local people who care passionately about the future of our woodlands. We are always interested in hearing from people who want to take an active role in our group, so if you too care passionately about your park and want to make a difference to its' future, we want to hear from you! You can join or express your ideas through the contact page of the site, or by contacting one of us personally in the Friends section. So some of the of the activities of the Friends Group, we are busy on our monthly work mornings with the help of the Ranger Service and anyone who would like to come along and join us in the work of restoring the long neglected shrubberies, you will be most welcome. Meet with us at the Cruck Barn in Concord Park on the 2nd. Tues. in the month for 10.00am till lunch time, we do have a coffee break with some very good biscuits on offer. Also we have plans for the disused bowling greens. And a new piece of play equipment to add to the last piece, a photo of which can be seen in the photo gallery. We do need more members to help in anyway they can, you can contact us by email for more information. June 1st was a great day out for people in Concord Park. The group received funding from the Community Development Fund to commission Activity Sheffield to put on lots of fun sports for the day and the weather was perfect. The Queen,s baton, which is an impressive piece of craftsmanship could be viewed in the Sports Centre.
